About This File

It's just a single map, but intended to be a long one. WAD includes mp3 music and a mod (description in the package if you need it).

I didn't think this was too bad. The level design wasn't too detailed, but felt adequate. The dark sectors gave it a degree of atmosphere. The battles weren't challenging due to the fact that you could have more armour and the weapons were more powerful due to the modifications, but they were definitely fun. I think more effort from the author would lead to an excellent WAD.

Sometimes I don't enjoy modifications on the original gameplay. The weapons being overpowered and enemies being overpowered too was fun for a while but then it became too unfair and most level is too dark and confusing too. Also, it would look clever to change weapon numbers but no,. I end up in a situation where I have to think fast, press 7 for BFG and get nothing. I think we are attuned to original doom gameplay, don't spoil that. 1.5/5 - Optimus

The modifications don't make this any fun. It's big, bland and the BFG is extremely overpowered. Without the mods, it's looks like a 90s style level. 2/5

I really felt like the mods were just unnecessary here. More time should have been spent on the layout and design of the map which was highly unimaginative.

Mediocre megawad. There're many puzzles along the maps and the small monster count makes me wonder if it's a puzzle oriented wad instead of an action one. Anyway, not my cup of tea.

Again, an improvement over the last one (castle3.wad). Still some hallway-isms but this time they aren't a thousand miles long. Also, repeating the same "puzzle" more than once is never a great idea. But, it's quite playable and actually a little challenging in some spots. 2.6/5

A slight improvement over the quality of castle1.wad (I didn't play castle2 because it's already been reviewed.) The starting actually looks sorta cool, giving you a sense that this map might be better than the previous ones. But, it's only marginally better, with outrageously long hallways as the main annoyance. Combat exists but is still super easy, especially if you use the myriad artifacts in supply. The worst part was getting to the end of a massive hallway and finding out that I needed a green key, which would have been about two minutes of backtracking if I didn't use the turbo cheat. 2/5 would skip

Other than a few competent moments, this is quite passable... as in, pass it by to play a more exciting map. At best it's incredibly easy even on high difficulty levels, with pretty basic and usually ugly architecture, and at worst you get to navigate through a maze of single-linedef walls which of course don't block your shots. If there were anything other than melee golems around, it would have been even more annoying.

No, this is not a 5 star wad, not by a longshot. It is an acceptable time killer though and it's also marred by some teleporter confusion. It's small and the cyberdemon is pretty easy to get rid of, so as name suggests, don't panic.
