A so-so EP3 remake, nothing so special...I cam understand why so many dislike in this wad...but at least it still playable, nothing else so good. I know players who play this wad would know E3M7 looks like but not a excuse for lack of rad suits... 3/5 -playerlin

I actually really liked this - classic feel with subtle improvements, the same yet still refreshingly enough different. I always liked the nostalgic feeling that remakes such as these produced.

I presume that Rex really just needed a simple project to work on and take a break from all his work on Paranoid and it's expansion. No harm in that, it's not a disaster after all.

Faithfully captures the E3 atmosphere and ramps up the difficulty of the original

This is too much of a rip off of E3 to be fun. You'll get a strong sense of deja vu and of wasted time. 2/5 - Zalewa

Why can't ReX produce something like Phobos Revisited instead? That actually added something to E1, something more than just a replay. These last two efforts (the former being Deimos: Slight Return) are too obsessed with staying completely true to the originals regarding level progression. Maybe he could remake these two episodes in a Phobos Revisited mindset. It would improve them by miles.

If you're looking for that good ol' E3 experience, look no further than this WAD. It reproduces both the gameplay and the style, to the point where each level is quite obviously an hommage to its counterpart in the original Inferno. If you're NOT looking for E3 gameplay, play something else.

Pretty boring IMO: most of the fights are grindy, the lighting differences are very subtle (so the maps look plain) and the curved architecture is REALLY overused. Meh.

Just play E3 instead.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
