About This File

Primary: Gold is an updated version of my first map release. It is very, very large and is sprinkled with a great number of encounters based around several varying locales. Gameplay is best described as a mix of classic Doom and an action-adventure title

I like this kind of gameplay and it plays well and solid, but some flaws :

1.The first-half part of game just a little boring, I think platforming with instant death trap may piss some players off.

2.At the end of first-half part, player has to kill the spidermastermind to go next, but the rocket ammo seems just enough, if player wasted too many then will have problems when run out of rockets and shotgun shells but the spidermastermind not dead yet.

3.Indoor areas just cramped, and looks darkly and boring...when outdoor areas are better.

I just forgot the original but this one still so nice, like it and have fun, even some flaws ruin a little of it.

I was on my game with this one, I was shooting those imps the moment they reared their ugly heads and dodging bullets like a pro! I found the hidden passageway to the outside... Thain I slipped off a ravine and drowned to death like a dumbass... Its a REALLY good map but don't get carried away.

A unique level and a fun time. It has a few minor faults, but I'll give it 4 stars - Nanorider

Very impressive, I Like the epic feel to everything moving from different areas all in one level, especially loved that you changed the sky texture for hell. The bossfight was interesting, the platforming was ok, I absolutely HATED the instadeath pitfalls, fuck that shit especially in a game like doom where you kind of slide after moving. Normally I don't like wads that try to create realistic areas, but this is a fun math and definitely worth a playthorugh.

Good level, but avoid using insta-death pits in the future. It's much better to provide proper escape route from pit traps. Also, I felt that the rooms could be more inter-connected, because this seemed a bit like a room-corridor-room-c orridor-room setup.

Good looking; has a sorta Half-Life feel to the layout, although it's a little mazey and easy to get turned around. The skill ramps up as you go, and moves from cramped to wide open battles. About a quarter of the way in I got absolutely flummoxed, and had to jump to continue, which seemed like the correct way to go but I didn't see anything in the readme file about jumping so I'm just guessing that was right. It's a solid, well thought out level that is fun and action packed.

A somewhat entertaining half-hour slog that takes from a humble, base beginning before slowly carrying you into hell's corner of the outpost. While there are some gripes to be had - namely the insta-death pits, the somewhat redundant battles, and occasionally over-cramped gameplay - it's a solid enough play and worth looking at if you've got some time on your hands. 3.5 -Snakes

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
