For me it's decent wad, but a little hard on later levels, yeah, for some folks the wad just nothing special and well, TBH it is, just only some small good design changes but mostly it plays like DooM 2 IWAD, just on smaller scale.

At least, it's play good enough, just like the original, and for those like DooM 2 IWAD levels, it's recommend for them, for others? whatever. :P    3/5.

Uh, I dunno, most if this is just literally smaller versions of the iwad maps with nothing interesting or creative done to them. Some little design decisions here and there are kind of neat but overall I feel like there is little point in these levels. Only for huge fans of doom2.wad.

I really, really liked this. My only complaints are the lack of bigger powerups and BFG! My favourite maps: MAP11 and MAP24.

Basically a smaller version of the original Doom2 iwad maps so nothing special here.

Interesting concept but not executed in such a way it was fun or interesting. It would be cool if elements from all doom 2 levels were incorporated in one big map, for example the hallway from the Entryway that would lead into a pathway in the underhalls etc.

Gee, this fails so hard... it's almost like playing DooM 2 drunk, only without the alcohol. Thumbs down.

5/5 - it's a lot of fun to play through this shrunken maps. Nice concept and very good usage of those 'only-decoration'-ar eas, I think. Would be nice to see some other shrunken iWad-maps ;-)

It seems silly to download a megawad which uses the concept of small maps and complain about them being cramped, so I'll just say that I didn't really enjoy this much sorry. Visually it is kind of cool to see smaller scale Doom 2 levels, but I don't know why anyone would want to play these.

14009 is a much, much better attempt at this concept.

The concept is fine. It's interesting that it could be done (put the levels in a restricted grid often without cutting much material); I'm not one to deny credit where it's due. The problem, however, is that these maps are nothing new. Unless you felt Doom II was too open, you get the same gameplay in the original. As thus this wad is more for a glance than a play, BUT if the authors did 1024x1024 to 2048x2048 levels that were highly inspired by the originals but had their own twists then it could be great.

Some good bits i.e. the chasm was my favourite, some bad bits. Some bad design choices spoiled this for me. i.e. missing power-ups, speed tricks disabled / removed. Looks like some maps were tested with zdoom as you see monsters stuck in walls every now and then, some weird additions. The main problem I had was ammo shortage. Worth a look if you are a fan of Doom II.

Eh...not a bad concept but execution is woeful. Should have only made maps to resemble the originals (like Remain, etc.) rather than literally just condensing the same levels, if done well that would have given it much added mileage. You have kind of played this if you've played Doom II.

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
