About This File

Single map about doomguy who got into an unfamiliar dimension and had to disentangle local troubles to get the opportunity to return home. This wad is a prequel to the previously released "The Inquisitor", narrating the events leading up stories that take place in "The Inquisitor".

The map was sent on competition which was held in iddqd.ru on July, 3 - 17, 2013. The idea of competition was that the map, created by the random map generator, is being improved and modified by each participant of competition under the port chosen by participant himself. Surprises and unusual decisions were welcomed as well. Thus the participant can map game zones only within a rectangle outlined around of an initial map. Behind its limits, it was allowed to do decorative landscapes and technical sectors. Also all initial map's vertexes should have been invariable.

By default, the L key turns off light effects (torch flares become sprites), and the key M regulates the speed of the delay text messages.

You can choose to play one of two versions of wad. To play the English version, type the command line: gzdoom.exe -file inqstr2e.wad

Command line for playing the Russian version is: gzdoom.exe -file inqstr2r.wad

This had the potential to be awesome, but is ruined by several fights that are pointless to even attempt. (how can anyone expect to survive the satyrs in the mines or the massive crypt fight?)

This TC is extremely frustrating at times, but still highly enjoyable. Great little tribute to first person RPGs of yore.

Yep, ridiculously hard and unbalanced! Fun combat could make the high difficulty bearable, but combat here is really simplistic and boring, fighting loads of (often overpowered) foes is a chore. Impresive visuals and great atmosphere, seemed like it would be joy to explore... but yeah, I just can barely stomach the gameplay.

This lags, but it looks cool. Almost like TES: Arena/Daggerfall. ~3/5

Massive improvement over first one. Definitely worth a try. I would like to see Inquisitor 3 one day, hopefully a longer, full fledged TC.

I just alt-tabbed out of gzdoom to type this: I'm going back down into the catacombs to figure out the water supply issue and i'm actually nervous about going back down there. The first part was rough, and I fucking loved it. Remember, the teleport to zomb/skele area, keep warping in and hitting, warp out a sec and warp back till they're dead. This wad oozes 10/10 quality, I can't wait to play more. Not tryin to suck your dick, just saying this is fucking great. 5/5 -Bukkake

God damn this is hard! Some like the challenge, I guess. I prefer not to die every few minutes, even with "Hurt me plenty" :D

I love your maps. This one is much easier than the cheoghs maps, thank goodness, but it was as visually pleasing. Keep making more!

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.
