About This File

You awake, uncomfortable and confused. You do not know where you are. You see a purple light shining at the end of the cave. As you near the light, you feel a terrifying heat on your shoulders...

The Lost Realm is a single map that is set in the "void" setting, rather than your traditional hellscape. This map pushes GZDoom to its limits and uses the power of ambience to produce a horrifying atmosphere similar to the likes of Doom 64. This isn't a petty attempt at the "jump scare" tactic, like most tryhard horror wads want to be. This is real.

^ That's a good idea. In all seriousness, no matter how bad or unfunny terrywads (or similar traps) are, they don't deserve to be deleted off of the archive. Best thing to do is put them in a separate category from the rest of the levels like themes/Terrywads. Give credit to Matthew and Omegalore though, they're trying to make some real levels and we should support them with that. -Bukkake Windmill

Trollwad. Made by a troll. His mother didn't love him, and his father loved him perhaps a little too much.

End the Terrywads. They do not belong on here anymore. They are no longer funny... after the short time they provided a laugh. Stop uploading this trash.

So this is a "Joke Wad".. Uh Huh... It's a slap in the face to those of us that are faithful Doomers with respect to this classic and iconic game.. If you can't make a wad without it smearing the name of DOOM, just quit and find another hobby...

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
