About This File

My first wad in years, the maps increase in size and difficulty as they progress. A bit on the linear side, and there's seldom ammo to waste.

Different kind of mapset. Starts with simple layout, simple but consistent texture use, and a lot of ugly wall decoration. Gameplay @ UV is dead simple. Map02 is a bit better, but still to easy to play. Map03 is more complex, has a lot of empty spaces, but difficulty increases, and it ends with some tough fights. Overall: too long for it's spare texture use, and gameplay is too unbalanced and mostly way too easy. As such: solid 3 but not 4 stars.

Cool stuff. Very distinctive feel to it. Empty rooms make the maps less like video game levels.

Lots of fun, nice designs, texturing is a bit bland but also quite cohesive. Punch some demons and you'll be fine for ammo.

The color choice is a bit bland, and the ammo is a bit scarce, but, it's not terrible. The design, overall, is nice, but, it did feel a little confusing at times. Lighting was done very well, and I praise the attention to detail of it, too. Monsters were placed in good spots, though, and the empty feeling gave me a sense of tension, where I was punching, just to make sure a room was truly empty. Not bad, but, I didn't enjoy it as much as I wish I did. 4-5 - K12

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
