About This File

The Story:

Welcome to Death World. The new evil world which the demons just casted you into. Having gotten sick of you, the demons grabbed you after one of your battles and threw you into a portal leading to this new evil place. But before you start your escape from it, the story first starts on a yet another army base under attack from the demons. You must fight your way through it.
-------------------------------------------------
This is the first map out of 6 for a new episode of Doom 2 I will be making. It has a base theme and is for zdoom. It is fairly tought but not too tough.

Simple architecture, almost no texture use, no decoration, and painfully poor monster placement. @ UV maybe acceptable as a poor slaughtermap, when the absence of originality is not considered as a problem. 1/5 for the efford.

Quite swell I say, the rooms looks kind of simple in aesthetics, but I like it! ~3/5

A bit of colored lighting and height variation keeps this otherwise extremely bland level a bit interesting to look at. The gameplay drags it down the most though. You are often faced with hordes of the same monsters from the front, so dealing with them isn't a problem. Overall, it's a very uninspiring and bland experience that brings nothing new to the table. 2/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
