About This File

My 12-level Megawad for Doom 2/Final Doom, and sequel to my previous work, Damnation. Horror-themed but still with plenty of action. Uses .ogg music files for the levels and text screens, as well as ambient sounds throughout the levels. Continues the story of Damnation, with the surviving marine encountering the Thanatos Base on the borders of the system.

Overall difficulty of the Wad is hard, with some difficult encounters in addition to some surprising tricks and traps. Levels are generally large, and average about 10-15 minutes in length each. Uses some monsters/weapons/items from Skulltag.

Requires Zandronum, as well as the additional files in the .zip (cc4-tex.wad, q2tex.wad, IDTEX.wad, skulltag_data.pk3, skulltag_actors.pk3). Read the .rtf file as well if you want to know more about the story and details on the development of the Wad.

How is it that this has so few votes? This is one really well made episode, with great and highly polished visuals, and gameplay that manages to be challenging without reliance on currently popular slaughter trappings. I hope to see more from this author - hopefully with better "promotion" and better choice of source port.

pretty good, I guess only reason this isn't more popular is that it demands what is basically viewed as multiplayer source port. maps are great, with great visuals, and lots of exploration. they use bunch of bright AVP2 textures, and they gave this wad's interior environments a very different feel. difficulty is just perfect, gameplay is closer to classic doom - since I was never into modern slaughtermap craze, I think this is a good thing.

A part of me wants to shake your hand for these expertly built remarkable maps. A part of me wants to deck you for scaring the shit out of me when I opened that door near the end of level 2. 5/5

Unique and atmospheric levels, great encounters, and a pleasant change of scenery from the usual classic-styled wads these days

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
