Pretty damn good Hell episode for Doom. Difficulty is kind of all over the place though, no real progression of it, but maybe that wasn't the intention.

Maps I liked: E3M2(shorter more fun Erebus tribute), E3M3(Pandemonium tribute, good gameplay), E3M5(good gameplay, a bit too easy with bfg though), E3M7(good gameplay, has the best fights in it, although I'd have put less shotgun/baron fights in it) and E3M6(it's way too easy if you like to hunt down secrets). E3M1 was kind of weird, not really memorable. E3M4 was kind of hard, but in a bad way, loads of places to get stuck on, while the cacos munch your face off, I just might have been unlucky though. E3M9 - I suppose it's a mix of styles, did not like the ending though, too overdone. E3M8 - Kind of meh, not very memorable. Overall these maps are definitely worth the play, had fun. 4/5 stars.

Map design and gameplay walk the satisfying line between oldschool and source port, modern style, with nothing looking out of place compared to id's original classic but with far more challenging monster ambushes and traps than ever devised by the original team - although never too difficult as I didn't die more than a few times on skill four. In summation, if you like your Doom classic styled, rather than too modern, then this is a can't miss.

A live proof that it's possible to create a decent, classic Doom 1 WAD that doesn't feel tedious. Good, fast paced action and simple but not bad visuals.

Fun e3 replacement. Fast gameplay and a decent mix of linear and nonlinear maps. Neither too easy nor frustrating.

Generally a good set of maps - but, again, ruined by throwing lost souls at you at every turn. Why do people insist on doing this? Makes an enjoyable experience highly annoying.

Just finished playing this and it is outstanding! It looks like an original E3 from id, real nostalgic feel to it. Combat was fun and never got stale. Lots of monsters and Romero style monster waves from previously explored areas that you have to return to. High replay value like the original iwads.

I liked this. Good D1 mapset. Many unusual texture combinations, "classic" looking, while not ugly. Gameplay mostly flows well, and there's an enjoyable exploration factor. 5/5

Great mapset except E3M8. That was rather meh. If you're looking for some vanilla action that should be an obvious choice.

A very good E3 replacement. The difficulty is in a good place, not to hard but not to easy. Lots of good traps and the city maps are really good too. I give this a 5/5

A very fun mapset with strong E3 overtones. Not too difficult, not overly difficult. Gameplay was quite good and the aesthetics of the maps gave a late 90s/early 2000s feeling.

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
