About This File

"...Something strange occurs on that base. You need to find out, what. Be careful, marine, it can be dangerous." Tiny tech base full of monsters to kill. It's my first map.

Arrowhead

A very detailed (but nearly microscopic) techbase map.

The detailing is quite good - truly feels like a real place.

Gameplay wise, the map is too small to offer much of a challenge. It took me under 3 minutes to UVMAX. I enjoyed what was here, but really wanted to see more.

3/5

I think this is a great starting map. short and sweet with a bite.

Ends too quickly to provide any fun. It's only a promise of a good map and nothing more. 22 monsters in a highly detailed structure is not enough.

those revs whipped my ass. It's very step by step like those labyrinth movies. Details are good, but the gameplay will matter from there. Yes, it's a cramped wiggle butt gameplay. ~2/5 because it's a short map that might need more ground or just a better way in how scripts operate. It's like some Cube movie, but more like a demo.

I can beat this in 2.19. Progression is highly-scripted (don't expect doors to open when you push them) which I found somewhat irritating. Ammo is tight - you'll soon find yourself fighting revenants with a pistol and then cacodemons with your fists, which isn't my idea of fun. Strangely, you can skip the cacodemons and go straight to the exit. Some nice architectural touches but also bum notes. Wooden ceiling in a computer station? Only saw one bad ceiling flat.

Nice, the detailling makes it visually enjoyable, gameplay, had to stay aware because of the small amount of life. Very good first map!

Nothing outstandingly bad but nothing outstandingly good. You've got the technical aspects right, not really long enough though for a nice gameplay rundown. Good start though, 3 stars.

A small map for ZDoom. There's a decent bit of detail that doesn't go too overboard, but the map itself is kind of cramped and compact, even for my tastes. It's put together well though and for a first map it's an excellent job. 3 stars. - Obsidian

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
