About This File

17 maps made during the nineteenth Abyssal Speedmapping Session in the space of two hours, with 15 minutes for music and texture selection and 15 minutes for bugfixing. Each mapper had 3 themes to choose from, this time requests from people who had birthdays in May:

- Map should feature bridges (Dime) - Lots of 20% damaging floors (Sector action 16) (Obsidian) - All weapons are on pedestals that are lowered by switch (Pinchy)

AD_79, Walter Confalonieri, scifista42, TheMionicDonut, SavageCorona, an_mutt, 4shockblast, Breezeep and Jimmy used the Alfonzo treatment.

It's a cool wad with a cool theme of "things on a pedestal". Final map is a nightmare that have 121 cyberdemons, fuuuuu-. Never had the occasion to play this session until now, even if i made a map for it. And for the same reason, there's a huge number of un-played sessions so far.

concept wads are fun on occasion but this wasn't even close. also Dragonforce is terrible.

Good but frustrating map set. Don't play the maps starting with pistol only. Carry over your guns. MAP01 is the weakest one in the WAD, apart from MAP32 which is a joke.

Voting 4 stars on this WAD that I contributed to because there are some "pretty darn good" maps in here (that aren't my own), I think that's fair. Don't expect megawad quality by any means, but expect reasonably good quality for maps made in a matter of hours.

reminder that there are some good maps in this, anyone who votes down just because "speedmaps" can go fuck themselves. Rate the quality of the maps, not the type of map. ffs

I'd wish you guys would stop up-voting your own wads that people don't care about.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.
