I think that the combination between shotgun and chaingun combat, and the hitscanner shootouts this WAD offers are really fun and engaging. Pinky Demons are placed in areas where they're not frustrating, (The opposite being something I see very often, nice work Romero :P.) My only issue with this WAD is that one or two of the secrets, specifically those found in the darkened tech room, are sort of esoteric. The one where you have to jump from a platform isn't the worst, but the one for the Mega-Armour is annoying and in my opinion, unfair to find.

Despite these small issues, I think that Phobos Mission Control is an excellent and exciting level to run through, and I applaud Romero for returning to the Doom Community to make new levels.

Played this around release and again recently. Still a solid Doom 1 map with a cool theme of the base opening up as you progress. 4/5

Just the type of map I enjoy, definitely prefer this to e1m8b.

my two-word review describes this as "pretty fun" but let's see what I really have to say. getting a chaingun at the beginning is real nice, the numbers correlating switches to doors helps in progressing through, and combat usually stays pretty decent, as would be the case if this really was an E1M4. it's a lot bigger than you'd expect most of the time, and a lot of the time will likely be spent at that area at the southwest end, with all the terminals and shit and having to cross bridges looking for secrets and such. the cracks here are crevices, all are death traps for sure, and the opening up of everything at the end is neat too. well, it's a neat wad, even regardless of who made it.

Gameplay was great, despite being a little tough at times. Only real complaints were the cramped design and more linear than the original is. Otherwise, this gets a 4 from me.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
