A few years have past since you proved yourself to the gods, but now you are faced with a challenge of huge proportions. The gods were not impressed with the actions of the UAC in a secret base in the dormant Mount Vesuvius. They have unleashed their wrath on the base causing mass destruction. But an unfortunate consequence of their actions was to push the volcan to brink of a major cataclysmic eruption which could place the whole Earth into darkness. It appears even immortals can be stupid.
Your mission is to clear the base and fix the machinery built into the volcano which should hopefully stabilise the volcano and save the Earth. But be warned, the base will have fierce resistance, so do not expect an easy ride.
Good luck Spartan.......
Map01 - Don't look back
Music - Infinite by Tom Mustaine
This map was a random map01 that I made a long time ago. This map has been reworked to make the map flow better.
Map02 - Slime pits
Music - Watz next from Rise of the Triad
This was a concept map I made from UDINO for the E1M2 slot, I posted a couple of shots up for it to give SteveD some inspiration. I finished the map off and retextured some of it to fit this project.
Map03 - Outer base
Music - DLA by Mark Klem
This was originally map01 from an unreleased wad called plutonic dawn. I have connected some areas together and built a new exit area.
Map04 - Miasma
Music - From Perditions gate by Tom Mustaine (Map02)
A reject map from TNT revilution as it didn't fit the specifications of the project, so it ended up here.
Map05 - Scolding scythe
Music - Smells like a burning corpse from TNT revilution
This was a map built from scratch for this wad.
Map06 - Bore hole
Music - Task force from Rise of the Triad
This wad another map made for this project, this was inspired from the map in Quake 2 with the same name. I uess some can see the resemblences here and there.
Map07 - Dead Cliche
Music - Default track used
This was made as inspiration during the development of D2INO, very short and unfortunately doesn't deviate from the usual map07 traits.
Map08 - Fort of pain
Music - Into the beast's belly from TNT revilution
This was map07 from plutonic dawn, I have reworked the map so it would work without the 666/667 tags.
Map09 - Crater base
Music - The midnight carnvial from guilty gear X
This was made for SF2013, I have retextured the map and reworked some areas to fit the style of this wad. There will be a new version made for SF2013 in the near future.
Map10 - Red heat
Music - Absence of light by Synthony X
This was made for Interception 2 which seems to be dead in the water now. The general gameplay and layout have remained mostly unchanged.
Map11 - Core infestation
Music - Getaway by Stuart Rynn
This map is very much inspired by Map16 of Speed of Doom, this map was made for this project.
Map12 - The pain maze
Music - Last man standing (Sacraficial synthony) by Kristian Aro
This was made for this project. I thought I would make my own version of hunted from the plutonia experiment with my own touches. I really like the outcome of this.
Map13 - Exposure
Music - E2M2 music from Heretic
A map designed for 2012.wad, I found it whilst clearing out my directory, so here it is.
Map14 - Infestation breach
Music - E1M6 music from Heretic
A failed submission to UDINO, it didn't really fit the E3M3 mapslot. I do think it has worked out for the best here. It certainly is a hectic map.
Map15 - Brimstone Keep
Music - E1M1 music from Heretic
I decided to do a remake of Firestarter from SF2013, this map probably is not as difficult as other maps in the hell episode as there is more space to move around, still it should offer a tough challenge.
Map16 - Crimson cascade
Music - Fall of the kingdom by Stuart Rynn
This was a map made for Rayzik's birthday, though in the end the map was always going to end up in this wad.
Map17 - Eternal bloodlust
Music - Unsure of origin, used on map29 of Doom 2 Reloaded
Probably one of the hardest maps I have ever made, I thought I would try out some ribbiks type gameplay, so there are some vicious encounters in a mix of tight and open spaces. I hope you enjoy this one.
Map31 - Meteor rain
Music - From Xenogears
Originally map31 from Plutonic dawn was here, but the map sucked so here is a brand new map. I think this plays pretty well.
Map32 - Crossfire
Music - How'd I do? from Rise of the Triad
This was from a 30 minute mapping session which occured a long long time ago. It is what it is.
