About This File

A short, slightly puzzle-oriented map made for TerminusEst13's third DUMP project (Doom Upstart Mapping Project).

You're stuck on the weather-worn planet Ratama with only a bunch of hostile aliens for company. Find a way off it and kill everything in your way.

Lovely looking level with some great features. The weather alone is awesome! Very playable, no cheap traps or anything like that, just solid gameplay. Also had the noise from the "Shadows" from Babylon 5 coming from the strange skull trees. Solid all-rounder.

Beautiful looking map that doesn't over do it, non-linear layout is a joy to explore and come to know. A few enemies can be handled maybe easier than intended as height differences stopped them being able to fight back effectively.

Great atmosphere, plenty of tension, and extremely consistent design.

Short but really good map with non-linear layout. It includes few Zdoom features, but still provides nice old fashioned Doom gameplay. 5/5 - Damned

This is a very cool map. Not sure I've ever seen a rain effect pulled off in Doom that well before. The textures were cool and the layout promotes exploration. This is probably the most unexpected awesome map I've played in quite some time. The 3d elements also really fit the layout well. 5/5

A wonderfully balanced and varied piece that blends the advanced features of zdoom into a well rounded adventure.

This style is what I'm learning at the moment and there are a lot of great things I improved in my own work with just one playthrough.

Well crafted rain, textures and a good choice of additional content added that all fit in.

Progression and connectivity feel really good and it triggered memories of old classic RPGs like Gothic 2 with the interwoven natural and human constructed areas.

In many respects this represents the best of modern mapping today.

Excellent ZDoom map with excellent use of ZDoom features. Gives off an Unreal vibe a bit. Runs correctly in multiplayer.

Did it really take this long for someone to add decent rain\weather to a proper Doom map? It's really nice all around, hope to see more.

Excellent map, but the ammo is scarce, is the unique problem, another i dont see   the final boss!!!, i love it, the theme and he himself make me create some years ago a powerful boss, the dark lord of my wad of monsters   is great, but hard   4 stars

What a shame. The atmosphere and visuals of this wad are very well-done and are perfect for me, a big fan of the game Blood. But unfortunately the actual gameplay is a huge letdown. It's just not fun. You're given so little ammo that even if you begin with perfect aim, you'll undoubtedly run out and be faced with hitscan cultists and zero ammo. So you need to use the pitchfork on the poisonous enemies in the beginning (unfun) to have a chance against the cultists later on. This sums up the entirety of the mod's progression. You need to take EXACTLY the right path and make EXACTLY the right moves or you will be fucked. Which is really stupid since the city is so non-linear. It's punishing players for exploring. Just started exploring the city and feel like checking out this warehouse? Nope, here's two mini-bosses you couldn't possibly defeat at this point! How fun. And also due to this non-linearity, one is liable to get lost, trying to find the way to progress or remember exactly where to backtrack to.   Some would say "it's supposed to be ammo-starved & punishing like Blood". Well really only the first few levels of Blood are ammo-starved, for most of the game you are given a reasonable amount of ammunition. Which is good, because running past enemies like a headless chicken or making painstaking effort to melee them is not fun.

The Good:   - Mapsets were awesome. Non linear. Larger than medium sized.   - "New" monsters were great!     - Loads of clever secrets - most of them rewarding   - Great monster placement   - Lots of shooting, some good puzzles   - There's a Titan II   The Bad: -  Maps 08 and 09 were a bit slaughtery, but nothing extremely outrageous. -  Music could have been updated   I didn't think I would like this WAD at first, but it turned out that I really did have fun with it. It was a little slow getting started, but after the first 2 Maps, this game took off like a bullet! I wished it was longer, but hey, there's Titan II which, according to the reviews I've read, is even better!   Great job! Thanks for making this great WAD. :)   4.5 out of 5 Stars
