About This File

Imagine that a large, abandoned, warehouse in your home town has been overrun by nasties. It is up to you to save the day! You must first fight your way in from outside, make it through the outer offices, and then finally into the warehouse itself. Although difficulty levels are implemented, it is always pretty tough! Good Luck! The level itself is pretty large, and may be a little slow on some machines if all the nasties are running around at the same time. On a 486 it is fine.

Very challenging map, with lots of really difficult dark areas. You need to visit every place to reach your goal. Both keys require a bit of secret observation to be obtained.

As good a challenge as you can reasonably expect from a very early map which features almost exclusively 'lower tier' enemies. Armour and health are not superabundant, and you might also need to make use of the chainsaw at some points if you're not prudent in your ammo management.

By the way, à propos the comments on the blue key - to lower it you need to use three switches, which are revealed sequentially and are not hidden, and you can get out again from behind the blue door area (even without the key), you just have to be a bit patient....

Actually, I think this is worth a good 3.5+ out of 5 for its era.

There are a ton of monsters, this is *almost* able to be called the first slaughtermap. Every room is choc full, the glitches bring this down to a 3/5.

This is one of the earliest levels in the database, and is also on the "Maximum Doom" CD, which is why I remember it. It's quite good for such an early level, with several hundred monsters and lots of action. It's based around four large warhouse rooms with a cross-shaped lift in the middle. The big early problem is the red key; you have to shoot a wall, but it's not at all obvious. Nice/nasty surprise near the exit.

Everybody complains about red key (which I found thanks to my shotgun) but I couldn't access blue key (which apparently can be accessed by using random crate and then finding hidden switch). Ending is a bit boring but other than that it's pretty fun.

I remember playing in 1995, and being a little annoyed by it. The red key is a bitch to find (behind unmarked wall you have to shoot). The rest is okay but it's fucking dark you fight some bitches you can't see high up crates popping caps in yo ass. Then you have to find some switches to lower blue key. ***

A really well put together map with ambushes and nasty enemy placement. A word of warning though, do NOT ever approach the blue door exit unless you have the blue key or you will get trapped. Very enjoyable even now almost 17 years after this was made, this really stands the test of time. The warehouse is literally sprawling with imps and zombies, and just when I thought the map was over the exit was actually a lift that went down to an underground area with acid! Overall brilliant!! 4/5

Aside from an annoying secret to obtain the red key, this map wasn't bad at all! I had a lot of fun with it. Recommended.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
