About This File

ROGUES2 is similar to ROGUES I made in September 1994. It's a level for games who prefere the shotgun. Of course you can find the other weapons too, but it should be possible to finish this level just with the shotgun. This level mainly consists of very detailed rooms, with a lot of windows, doors and other possibilities to hide behind and shoot each other. Although I I couldn't test this level for multiplayer game it should work very well in that mode. In some places in this level are small difficulties, so don't forget: Think first, then move !

Lots of fun, though pretty easy to get lost. The GRAY textures get tiring after a while, but there's just enough variation to keep it from getting too tedious. Another great map from the early days of Doom.

An outstanding map. Clean design, fairly involved layout, superb texturing and lots of Sarges to keep you on your toes.

This is the follow-up to id=856. It's similar - a grey stone techbase - but more expansive, with a bit more detail. The layout is either pleasingly intricate or annoyingly aimless depending on your taste. As before you fight imps and shotgun men almost exclusively, and so although there's a lot of action, it gets boring. I ended up with no idea where to get, except that I could straferun to the exit anyway.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.
