About This File

The government has of late taken a certain interest in a wealthy socialite whom they believe is dabbling in the black arts. You have been chosen to investigate his dealings. The door closes behind you...

This is a big level. It is my first level and also the level that I learned how to use DEU. My friends enjoyed playing it and told me to make it available for others. I tried to, but as luck would have it I was an AOHeller and they would not accept my level. That was a year ago. Now it is debugged, touched up and ready for human con- sumption.

A large level made of oversized boxy rooms. Kind of flat, with pokey progression and a few truckloads of monsters. All three keys are present but you can exit with just blue and yellow. The last key (red) leads to a bonus slaughterfest. Two exits.

Hans *Shithauer*, more like. That's German for Shithouse. Probably.

Crumbs, The Devil Rides Out in Doom form. But not very good. The blue (first) key is hidden behind a secret door in a dark windy passage that's full of nukage, and it's not marked on the map. The texture is offset but you would never find it in normal gameplay. Doesn't look much like a mansion, generally large but square rooms. Hans Scheithauer, good name.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
