About This File

This level has a little bit of everything to it. Wide-open cavernous areas, hidden corridors, good observation/sniper spots, numerous nooks and crannies to ambush/be ambushed in, and a river of poisoned water. The level is built around a nuclear reactor core.

During multi-player play, the exit requires co-operation between two players to end the level.

This PWAD also features a few puzzles/tricks that DO NOT need to be solved to complete the level. In fact, there are entire areas that do not need to be visited to complete the level.

DEMO1 has been replaced with a demo of this level done on Hurt Me Plenty. The demo does not reveal the location of all secrets.

Not bad for an early 1994 level to be honest. It isn't good, but not bad. Being a Wolf3d fan I don't mind long corridors in maps that much, although the decoration could have been better that's for sure. If you're into old maps and corridor-esque maps, give it a shot.

Bad depressing extremely corridor-heavy level. You have better things to do, trust me.

It's a surprisingly decent very very early level, with an archetypal nuclear reactor core. The design is clean and there is a bit of detail, although it is very empty and bland, but the textures are well-chosened and generally work. There are lots of secrets, some of which are fun to find; not much ammo. Too many long, straight corridors but it's entertaining fun and much better than other wads of the period.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
