About This File

The first of the DANDY Deathmatch series. Don't ask me how many are going to be in it... I am not sure!! 5-10 my guess. Anyway when I have finished the series I will compile all of them into one WAD called DANDY!.WAD so be on the look out for 0DANDY!.ZIP, or maybe it would be better to look for 0DANDY02.ZIP at the moment (DANDY02.WAD) cause it is already nearly finished!

--==================================--

And now to the level!!! This level (and series) is designed for nothing more than DEATHMATCH, and this one for particularly fast DM. NO ARMOUR or HEALTH bonuses. Don't complain until you play, this makes for a much faster, furious, closer and alround more fun DM. Once your down your down there isn't anything you can do about it, and this calls for different tatics. ENJOY IT!!! Sorry 'bout the lack of plot!!! :)

Dandy 01: A part E2M1 and E1 style level... a bugger to get the more powerful weapons like it should be. None of this picking up a Plasma like THAT! Work for 'em I say!

WEAPONS/AMMO: Shotgun + a few shells Chaingun + a couple of clips Super Shotgun + shells Plasma NO AMMO BFG NO AMMO

Amazing this is still floating around on the interwebs!! I have downloaded them all again and firing up ZDoom for a trip back.

Maybe it's time I finish this series? Thanks for the kind feedback @Doomkid ... I made this when I was 15 or 16 and obviously full of teen angst, at least that seems apparent from the language in the readme.

It's criminal that this has been lost in time! Here we have an 18 year old DM map that is, in my opinion, up to UDM 1 standards. Made by a fellow Aussie way back in the Dooming stone age. Someone needs to hook some life support into this and have a few duels, looks like fun.

      These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

      A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

      Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

      Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

      It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
