About This File

This Wad is for DOOM ][ only. Based on the Startrek TNG TV series, it includes all new grafix and sounds and is designed loosely around the configuration of the NCC-1701D Enterprise. We'd like to think that it's almost like being there. I started it because I wanted to have some kind of focus for my next wad, so being a Startrek fan I thought that would be a good idea. It was NEVER originally supposed to be as huge a progect as it turned out to be, but every time I worked on it I thought of another cool idea for it (grin).

It has been designed from the beginning with Deathmatch

I tried it years ago and was impressed... its actually made in EDMAP! The ancient map editor from hell itself.

But we really need an updated UDMF version of this

The 'other' startrek wad of old is also very good for its time

we need more startrek in doom

Not sure to talk about this map on the Wadarcheology thread since i'm pretty sure it's pretty well known around there, even with only one wrote review by Doomkid? However, this is a pretty good map sets in the famous Enterprise starship from Star Trek: The Next Generation, new graphics, sounds and cute sprites of crew inmates, the work done is pretty admirable, too bad that there's no exit (at least i didn't find it)! However, a pretty cool partial conversion!

I'm a big time Star Trek: TNG fan, and holy shit this is hilarious. Oh no! An army of zombified Rikers and Worf-Imps! For 1995, this is a damn fine representation of the Enterprise, but it's too small and cramped up. I love that you play as an unamused Picard as well. 5 for effort and comedy.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
