Yeah well, where to begin. First ignore all of the 5 star votes here - these are just buddies voting each other's maps up. This is not even an "average" set of maps compared to what else is here. 2 stars is a more fair assessment. Here is the shopping list of annoyances -

* "New textures" - these mostly consisted of copying the originals into MS-Paint and flood filling new colors. The results are just an eyesore. Tip - if you do want to modify the Doom look, put some effort and craft into it. Otherwise, just don't. Leave it alone.

* maps are for the most part confusing with no clear idea of progression. Seems as though large spaces were jotted down and remaining blank spaces were then filled with endless tunnels and pointless mazes. Both thought and creativity in designs are glaringly absent.

* pointless randomly placed teleports sending you to random places on the map that do nothing of value and just make you trudge through large chunks of the maps you've already been through multiple times.

* endless unmarked secrets, many of which need to be found in order to make any kind of progress.

* and the mother of all annoyances - endless lost souls and pain elementals in what seems like every second room. The quickest and most effective way to ruin any map...

* "new sounds" that add absolutely nothing. There is probably more, but I can't be bothered. Much like the author.

The only impression I get from this is that it was lazy and just slapped together ad hoc, left as is and not even considered for quality review and revision.

This is not a good set of maps by any stretch.

Sort-of jokewad. Has some new textures which are partly good, partly poor. Map layouts & texture use are mostly very amateurish. Has a lot of technically problems. Sounds are childish. Overall there is almost no ambiance or gameplay. 2* because author has put a lot of effort in this. BTW 5* legendary? C'mon, maybe if you're 10 or so. /nofi

Resource replacement for the sake of resource replacement. Very primitive levels. Some castles are kinda cool.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.
