This patch does not alter your DOOM.WAD or DOOM.EXE.
To install this patch:
Unzip barn3.wad and barneym3.bat into your DOOM or DOOM 2 directory.
If you don't have deusf.exe, you will need that in your DOOM(2) directory
This creates a 2-3 meg file. Type the applicable of the following:
DOOM -file barneym3.wad
DOOM2 -file barneym3.wad
Where it came from:
This barney patch was designed by Alden Bates (email@example.com)
The original ray traced patch was by: David Lobser (But don't complain to him)
Thanks go also to: Aaron Blackwell (Who updated David's graphics), Laurie
Kennedy, Scott McKenzie, Steve Piner and Darren Bottin.
Also to the writers of DeuSF.
How it came:
Barney was drawn using xpaint. He was not rendered using any ray tracing
tools, also the author was working off a front only shot of the dino's mug, so
he looks a little odd from the sides. He also looks slightly cartoonish.
For some reason, the full shades of colour I rendered Barney in
didn't turn out right in DooM. The other gif viewer I have shows them perfectly.
This is because I created them using a different palette. Dang.
Because of the was ID recycles the sounds, some of the monsters eg Demons and
Lost Souls, have been subverted by the evil B'harne...
What you can do with this patch:
You can distribute it, you can change the graphics to make Barney look more
like Barney, tattoo your name on his forehead, paint a target on his stomach,
anything you like under the following conditions: 1) You distrubute this text
file with it. 2) You note what changes you made so I don't get blamed for
Having said this, no-one's likely to take a blind bit of notice anyway.
Health tip: never try to hug Barney.
