About This File

"The United Allied Cooperative (UAC) has developed a new secret weapon, the BFG9000. Your assignment is to break into their headquarters and get it. We will place you at the entrance. Just go in, get it and come back out (getting the BFG will lower a sector at the entrance, allowing you to exit the level from there). We don't know the layout of the building, but we do know that there is an armoury behind a red key door, and that the red key is kept in the computer room which itself is behind a yellow key door. This is important as we suspect that you may encounter some resistance, and the only offensive equipment we can provide you with is a lowly pistol. Good luck."

This wad is overall very fun to play, however, the puzzle section for unlocking the red key has no rhyme or reason, and I ended up just using noclip. Apart from that, it's a fun and challenging wad.

I haven't played it, but I found it necessary to point this out... it's "United Aerospace Corporation", not "United Allied Cooperative".

"A" for effort but seriously, way too many enemies too close together and not enough items to keep going. I give only one star out of the good level design.

Level progression is unclear, texture misalignments, poor texture choices, tutti-frutti error, dull architecture, mostly 90-degree angle walls, dark teleporter maze, limited weapon selection. Enough structure to qualify as a level, and a few decent traps, but pretty horrible. 1/5 -VV

This is really terrible. I liked the concept of "find BFG and get out" but this plays very poorly. There are frustrating moments everywhere and you are stuck with just a pistol for most of the level. The map looks very bad as well. 1 Star. --- Starburst

Go left first, then get chased by the cacodemons. Once you find the red key, you get armed properly. Don't start by going forward into the depot (all this supposes you have some "common sense" not to rush in from the start) - printz. Average.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
