About This File

This is a nine-level WAD file with new graphics, music, and sound FX. The levels are very detailed, and are designed to mimic the "style" of the original shareware Doom. I have always thought that the best official Doom levels were the shareware levels. Even though they were too easy, and didn't have the same weapons/monsters variety that Doom 2 does, they LOOKED better than any of the other levels. I think this is because Doom is much better at simulating man-made structures than it is at simulating the "hell" type levels.

This is an attempt at bringing back the "classic", realistic look of the Doom 1 levels. The story is the same as Doom 1 - Knee Deep in the Dead. You must fight your way through the Phobos moon base to the anomaly that monsters are pouring through. Check out the additional notes at the end of this file for more level info.

From the author of Doomcity, a remake of episode 1 with cool design, fast gameplay, original midis and some sound replacements. Solid one. If you have little time and eager for mid-nineties quality, give it a try.

you can enter the yellow key room in MAP02 and get stuck, otherwise, neat.

How is this awesome? I find the level design pretty boring imo.

I may be a little biased, as techno-industrial is one of my favorite map themes, but IMHO this level set kicks ass. Each level is essentially a very loose remake of a Knee-Deep in the Dead level, based on the map names. A worthy addition to any Doomer's PWAD collection, fun from start to finish.

Map 2, its possible to get stuck in the blur sphere room (I strafed in there by accident to dodge an attack. Its just big enough that you can slip through)and I came across numerious other intentional or unintentional mistakes or glitches that allowed for sequence breaking. Some good battles, good play through. but not legendary material. but its pretty darn good. 4/5

ARRRGHH! You will run around in circles for way to long and and this wad shows that maps can't be to maze like or you just get lost! IT RUINS THE GAMEPLAY!!!!! But the wad is fun to play, it's the hole i don't know were to go thought that made me stop playing. 2/5 stars for that, sorry!

Whilst the new sounds and music may be dubious,
and some may find it quite easy, this Episode 1
style wad shows that it's good-looking and
interesting level design that really makes a good
wad. Outstanding.

For an early 1996 pwad, this has really great architecture and detail. The only problem is that it's very, very easy. Still, it's worth a try just to see the level design. 4/5
