About This File

A cool replacement for map 01. I would really appreciate any comments/constructive critisism as I am fairly new to WAD building.

I wanted to like this level because the designer's name is Dave. Dave is a cool name, I know. :) But alas, it is not to be. As if the level isn't simplistic enough, the designer spoon feeds you everything in plain sight. How can there be secret area's when they are in plain sight, I ask? And why "key" a door in the starting room when the key is right there to pick up, in the starting room? Sorry Dave. 0/5

Judging by the IBM email address this author's name really *is* Dave Peacock. But the level is poor. Although it's small and undetailed, there's still room for a dark flashing maze; joy. Part of the level is superfluous, another part looks like an intestine, and the big fight at the end involves a mancubus stuck in a tiny room - what does he do in there all day?

Would not play with PRBoom, with errors about missing files : FluidR3_GM.sf2 and STARTAN2.  These were not provided in the zip file.

The map author left the words "how not" out of his description, I'll let you figure out where.

More tripe.  Huge badly designed and featureless rooms that give you leg ache just watching going through them. The opposition from monsters is pitiful.

A busted crock of shit. The map is random scribble, it's insane.  Why do they upload this tripe?  The third screenshot above gives an idea what to expect.

Consists of some rooms to be opened in key sequence from a central area. Doors are narrow and each reveals a row of monsters waiting for you, and you don't have enough ammo (I had to cheat). No atmosphere, bright lighting, and mostly Wolfenstein-ish cuboid rooms. Technically OK, with minor texture mis-matches. At least his own summary was modest.   Give it a miss.
