About This File

Critical Path is a Doom II PWAD for advanced players, preferably those with faster computers, and is difficult enough to challenge anyone on the first few attempts. However, once you've analysed the tactics necessary for the level's completion, it all becomes rather easy. Par time is 28 minutes.

The level name sounds like a mid-80s straight-to-video sci-fi film, viz "Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn" or "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone". The level isn't bad - lots of large rooms, lots of monsters, too many mazes, but it moves quickly and there's lots of carnage. Very simple design, but that's expected for 1995. Some impressively large rooms for the period, including a large slime factory and a silver techbase area.

Simple, clearly a first wad.  All on the flat with big, brightly lit, and architecturally implausible rooms. The first map has two rooms, the second map one, and the third map one plus a kind of exit lobby. You can do one of two things - just run past the monsters and finish (I did it in 35 seconds), or have a bit of fun killing the monsters first. No noticable bugs. I hope the author will go on (or went on) to greater things.

Absolutely ludicrous, Now I need a new keyboard. Technically as bad as a wad can be, surely deliberate. I like to check out low-rated wads, so it's a pity that some clowns gave this  (and other bad ones) 5 stars, because averaged with correct low scores they end up with a middling rating and can be missed.

Would not play with PRBoom, with errors about missing files : FluidR3_GM.sf2 and STARTAN2.  These were not provided in the zip file.
