About This File

More DOOM 2 levels to kick ass in!

Story: You recive a distress signal from UAC Sci-Lab 103. Aliens have invaded through the dimensional portal, and have destroyed everything. Your goal: Massacre the hellspawn and close the portal! This should be sooo fun >:)

Level 1: UAC Sci-Lab 103 This level is supposed to look like a computer station. There's also a underground generator, sewer system, and meeting room. Keen. Watch out for nasty traps!

Level 2: Hell's Crevice This level is a cave in hell. Looks where you found out where those Demons were coming from. Some areas require you to run over pits. Use running jumps to get across, and remember to save your game in case you screw up.

Level 3: Dead Simple part II Get ready for a big ass rumble with a Cyberdemon, lots of Cacodemons and Arachnotrons, some Barons, and a Mancubus. The exit is the big Demon face floor on the platform. I dare ya to get 100% kills with the Super Shotgun only. Just try it >:)

first map starts with a outdoor area and ugly sky.enters a tech base...which is just narrow hallway connecting rooms...2nd map too mostly based on narrow ways but i like that one as this hell themed map got some fun progression...third map is a round area with some boss monsters but killing them is optional as you can run straight to open exit platform in some seconds...average mapset

Three maps from March 1996. MAP01 seems okay at first, with a moody outdoors bit and then a techbase, but quickly reveals itself to be ridiculously copy-and-paste; every room, corridor, is repeated three or four times, and the rooms are boring, with weak monsters in predictable places. Map02 is a subterranean hell maze that was so tedious I skipped to Map03, a boss battle that I ran through in fourteen seconds. Did not like.

Yuck. It's kinda hideous and dull and full of loooong corridors you run down anticipating every crevice holds an enemy.

Irritating. Boring corridors. Big fight in last level with no environment to speak of. Some fool gave this series four stars. Have demoted it.

For 1995 design is ok. But is VERY short. 3 min in slow pace.  Map is easy af.

Square rooms, no details, ugly. Secrets aren't flagged as secret. Only for crappy-wad-lovers.

For 1995, not bad. Some ideas, are really cool, but they're mixed with dumb things. Texture misalignments are common. Overall I had nice time with this.

Aside from a couple of stinkers (I'm looking at you, maps 20 and 33), this was a pretty fun and challenging map set to play through. For the time limit imposed in order to make these maps, they're of pretty nice quality, I think. While I wasn't the biggest fan of the (in my opinion) overusage of Arch-Viles and Revenants, it was still a fair challenge.

Disregard earlier review server error caused me to download the incorrect file. So what do I like? The textures combined with the sharp lighting contrast between heavy dark and rather bright areas. What I don't like is the rather empty feeling level with large rooms and corridors filled with medium tier enemies on Ultra Violence, i.e cacodemons and hellknights, while only given a shotgun and chaingun. The issue with this is that encounters become more tedious than dangerous. I would add a super shotgun or spread out the medium tier enemy placement. The level detailing leaves a lot to be desired with the large empty grey rooms/corridors reminding me more of Half-Life than Doom. With some more detailing and better monster/weapon placement I would rank this higher but as it stands this level leaves a lot to be desired.
