About This File

This is a _very_ large file, owing to the detail given to the level (lots of linedefs) and the shear size of the map. This map is designed primarily for single player games, but has multi-player starts, and an interesting consession for DeathMatch, though the map was not designed for DeathMatch. This map took over 150 "man-hours" to create, and outgrew both DEU 5.0 and DEU 5.1's memory allocation schemes. There are no "step wrong and die" traps - If you can get into an area (without cheating) you can get out. There are secrets, hidden doors and switches galore in this map.

This is a re-release with two minor fixes (linedef changes and one texture change). This file replaces the older RRWARD01.WAD and RRWARD01.ZIP.

94' adventure, escape through the tunnels, infiltrate the tech-base, find the labs and explore. Like it.

Well the architecture is fairly simple, but its from '94 so thats understandable. It starts off pretty basic but becomes more elaborate the farther you get into the map, not to mention it's pretty fun. 4/5 ~Joe Anderson

Not great. It felt like it was trying to be one of those atmospheric, realistic levels like "UAC_DEAD" and "INVADE2", but just ended up being boring and square. 2.5/5

Very high quality wad. Tense gameplay - few monsters, but health is well enough balanced to mean there is constant danger. I'm off to check out the other rrward wads now...

Pretty good for its age. If this was made in 2009 it would be laughed at. Not too large of a map, would take a normal doomer 20 minutes to beat. Fun to play, a bit of ambiance in the cave part, I did get scared by a pink demon.

errrmm... Yeah. They really don't. Its not as if they are dormant - they follow you. Even the archvile. It's slightly surreal having a mob of doom monsters following without attacking.   If that was used effectively, it might be cool. But to misquote Wolverine - it's a big square room...

Definitely plays a lot like E1M1. Not a bad quick play at all. I like these short-n-sweet ones!

Demons on fire, two-headed chaingunners riding arachnotrons, flying barons, resurrecting imps, the f***  y** demon, helicopters with plasma marine and great music by Mark Klem. Unique gameplay, tons of fun.

This map will take as long to complete as an episode of original Doom. It is VERY ornate and convoluted, and somewhat directionless. I played with latest Guncaster (1.777) and latest stable GZDoom (4.5). It took me nearly 2 hours. I still don't know how to get the yellow key without jumping.   I recommend using a gameplay mod with double jump and mantling, like Project Brutality, or D4D or Guncaster. There are no new monsters or weapons, so you won't miss out on original content if you use a gameplay mod.
There is a cool boss battle in the end. All the areas are nicely designed and detailed, and the final area looks cool. The exit area is central North, by the way. Beware, there are some inescapable traps if you play with jumping, so save often.

Early M. Krause map. Through some catacombs, a cemetery courtyard, electric compounds and radioactive pools. Dark, cool detailing.
