About This File

Before you even start the game, look at the text file MISSION.TXT. That will give you your mission objectives. I suggest you PRINT that text file. That file is very important in the episode I made you, it can also make sure you know what to look for. It is not a cheat map or something like cheating, it was made for a sort of briefing. No mistake, its still going to be your Doom!!!

My favorites list: 10, 11, 12 and 23. Lots of city maps (I don't like them), or inspired by renowned ones.

This megawad has a good gameplay flow, made of many small levels, but like most single-person megawads, suffers from repetition. From halfway onwards, the levels start to look like homages to commercially-made maps. And later on, a few maps are based on missions from Star Wars: Dark Forces, and possibly from other games. The gameplay retains author's style. Overall it leans on the easy side, with too many bonuses making the job easy.

Some warnings:

  1. MAP05 seems broken. At some point you can't operate a lift to get back. The only escape is idclip (sorry if you're playing on nightmare).
  2. Couldn't harm the final boss.

Nice megawad, didn't notice it was from 1996, looks nice tho, nice map design, architecture and textures.  The only thing that really annoyed me was the switches puzzles on map30 and I couldn't finish that map, I shot everything I had to the "Reactor" (nice way to replace the Icon of Sin), but nothing happened (I played this megawad with Æons of Death 6.66)  it looked like the "Icon of Sin" Reactor was closed/blocked by a wall, I had to use noclip to defeat the Icon of Sin

If you don't like nostalgia, forget about it. Otherwise - quite funny and quite detailed for its time...

Pretty avarage for a 90's megawad, lots of lengthy backtracking and the switch puzzles in MAP30 were absolutely horrible.

an alright megawad. don't expect anything amazing, but if you want old skool fun, play it. a few technical mishaps like getting stuck in MAP05 plus a few HOMs and a monster outside the playing area.

For a Wad dated from 96 this is actually pretty good for its time, none linear lvls with a good attempt of detailing, and challenging gameplay in the later maps, it has a few oversights like getting stuck in some parts where you have to noclip, or a big HOM in map26, the only thing i didn't like imo is that the lvl's are way too overstocked in ammo and health, so its a 4/5 from me. -Archy-

Excellent stuff. Classic maps that wouldn't feel out of place alongside the originals.

fun megawad, except buggy map05 and 22 and a couple other bugs (you have to noclip), but nice fun

Certainly one of the "forgotten" new wads; I agree that it is not "epic", but it is well worth a try and the quality starts off acceptable and gets pretty good by the end.

This is from August '96. It dates from a time when you could fit a Megawad on a single floppy. I admit I've only played the first dozen levels, but it's actually good fun; you can run through it blasting everything with the double shotgun, and although the design is simple it's not offensive. It's easy to get stuck in Map05 if you activate the soul sphere secret, though. Gets harder from about Map09 onwards. Map08 is tedious, but the rest is fast-moving.

A hidden gem. One of the best Megawads out there, trust me and give it a try!

another doom2, some of the maps were pretty cool. nothing new in terms of textures, music and sounds, some nice ideas here and there (map23 was really good looking besides of that fucking red sky), but overall this is nothing epic. 3/5 give it a try

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
