About This File

This is the sequel to Debut (debut_ep.zip), which was a full episode replacement for UDoom.

This is 11 new levels from scratch for Doom2 versions 1.7 - 1.9. It contains a new exe, new sprites, new floors, new walls, and a whole hell of alot of other new stuff.

Like Debut, most of my time on this was spent, working on the levels. Lighting, "fancy" archetechture, and other fun little things are present throughout the WAD.

Although everyone who mailed me about Debut said they enjoyed it, a few people said it was too easy, so...this one isn't (if it is then i suck!).

NO CHEATS are needed to complete these levels (if fact, hehe) there are different skill levels so choose one that suits you.

Stop reading, and download it, you won't be sorry, Oh yeah, just 'cause it's not a monster doesn't mean it can't be shot!

Don't make the mistake of overlooking this oldie because it's a heck of a lot of fun. Excellent architecture and awesome level design, POST really hits the sweet spot when it comes to classic doom gameplay. Each level offers a different theme, from brick castles to caverns to techbases there is always something new to see. Add to this very good gameplay and you know that it's because of wads like this that doom is as amazing as it is. 4.5/5, pity it wasn't longer!

One of my favorites. Atmospheric levels with clever layouts, and a touch of goofiness with the storyline. Wish the author had chosen music for the other maps besides the final one, but its not such a sin to listen do doom2's soundtrack again. Worth checking out debut.wad as well.

It's a mixed bag that had a pretty decent day. The author was way too obsessed with symmetry and non-SSG combat, however POST has a lot of character, which is created by the new textures, sprites, weird map names and of course the stylish design. I had a good time with it, some fun tense moments due to low HP as well as mysterious moments of confusion. Nice work for 1996.

This episode is amazing. It looks excellent for a 1996 wad and it also has an amazing story. You're basically kicking yourself in the nuts if you don't play this. 5/5

Indeed very well done but not as good to be in the top ten of 1996. Therefore it lacks a little bit of detail. But I agree with the poster from above about nuts and kicking. Coldfusio.

      JENESIS REVIEW:   - Single Player - UV Settings - Pistol starts every Map - Third time playing in about 4-5 years span   The Good:    - Continuous Maps    - Great architecture    - Incredible Hellish themes    - Excellent monster placement    - Clever puzzles    - Loads of secrets. Most are clever as well.    - Great music    - Lots of stuff to get you alive and stocked    - Levels are just the right size. Not small nor are they huuuuuuge.    - Not a slaughterfest, but not easy either. Difficulty is perfect for single player.   The Bad:     - There's no Jenesis II.    In short:   Sometimes, finding a new DooM WAD to play is like finding a decent horror movie to watch: You're going to go through a few crappy ones before you find one that makes it all worthwhile. Jenesis is one of those WADS to play that's worth going through some crappy ones first.   If you are looking for a great balance between dog fighting and puzzle solving, then Jenesis is for you. This game was fun as hell - every level.    Anyone who plays this can easily tell that MUCH work went into this fantastic game. It's WADs like this one that keep me playing. Bravo Mr. Paddock!   You have huge shoes to fill, Jenesis - for my next WAD I play. One of my all time faves. Well deserved Cacoward. What a game! :)   5 out of 5 Stars.

      The best thing to come out of 90s mapping by a long shot, in fact Memento Mori II is probably among the top 10 megawads ever even now, and certainly the only release from the pre-Alien Vendetta era about which I would dare to make such a claim.   The level design here is far tighter and far more professional than that of the first Memento Mori, the only potential exception to this rule being the somewhat strange "Base Exposure". You can trust that there are no baffling offerings in the vein of "Kinetics" or "Cesspool" to be found here. Superior level design aside, visual and thematic progression throughout the Megawad is also far better organized.   As a matter of fact, aside from the comparatively lower difficulty and pervasive presence of puzzle-like level progression, Memento Mori II often feels just as well-conceived and dynamic as a modern PWAD would, making it far, far ahead of its time is that sense.   It is quite unfortunate then, that among the three Megawads released by the Memento Mori crew, those being Memento Mori, Memento Mori II and Requiem, this second installment is by far the least frequently praised and certainly the least frequently played. As it turns out, it is by far the most challenging, but also, more importantly, the most consistently GOOD of the three.

      wow this was...mostly annoying, utilizing such tropes such as low ammo, lots of running around just trying to find the best weapon to choose, and mancubus snipers. I felt trolled. at least Jimmy is a good mapper though. MAP30 was the best map overall.

      IMPORTANT: DO NOT launch the file "AVMOVFIX.WAD" when playing Alien Vendetta. All it does is remove one of best portions of MAP20. That file was conceived as a fix for demo recording back in a day when processors where much less powerful, and despite being included in the download serves no purpose whatsoever in this day and age.   -----------------------------------   An epic experience in the most genuine sense of the word, Alien Vendetta's long-standing reputation as the most legendary Megawad of all is entirely deserved, although it isn't quite my number one choice. Variety, quality, creativity and spectacle abound in just about every moment of this very lengthy, challenging adventure.   Indeed, it should be clear that even now, in 2018 as of me writing this review, Alien Vendetta still belongs to the realm of the fairly difficult by today's overall PWAD standards. However, this absolutely shouldn't stop any curious players from trying it out, because the content offered is absolutely, positively worth it. In fact, although Alien Vendetta as aged a little, it holds up much better than most of its contemporaries and many of the old classics so lauded by the community.   As a negative, I will say that I don't think I approve of that final boss map, which calls upon skills that are never necessary in the rest of the Megawad and generally not a priority of classic Doom gameplay, all the while demanding a very exacting display of said skills from the player. Also, if I really have to nitpick, then I will concede that a couple maps contain very clumsy moments ("Nukefall"...).   I will give away no more and let the rare few Doom 2 players who have not yet experienced this masterpiece discover it for themselves. Highly recommended.

      Well-crafted atmospheric levels, as is par for the course for Eternal's better releases. Unfortunately, MAP02 suffers from the same main issue as MAP02 of Epic, which is to say an overabundance of empty space which the player has to constantly backtrack through while figuring out the map.   The map design here is not on par with Eternal's highest quality releases such as Frozen Time or Hell Ground, be it in terms of visual spectacle or player progression. Neither is the challenge, by which I mean that this is a fair bit easier than the two WADs mentioned above.   Still, although these two maps are definitely no Award-level material, they are satisfying overall and worth playing through at least once.
