Sorry to shout, but I don't want someone to cry at me if something goes
horribly wrong and it eats your only copy of DOOM.
REALGAME.DEH - A patch file for DOOM utilizing Dehacked and Dmaud to make
deathmatch and regular play much more exciting and real.
TELEFIX.DEH - A patch file for DOOM utilizing Dehacked and Dmaud to get
rid of all traces of the teleporter sound and flash. *RECOMMENDED FOR DM*
To run this patch, first copy dmaud.exe and dehacked.exe into your DOOM
directory and run the "realgame.bat" file.
*you must have both programs in your directory for it to run correctly*
Important - hit <ret> once after each sound stats are displayed to make
Dmaud go to the next one. - sorry for the simple .bat file, but it works.
The realgame.bat file first installs the realgame.deh patch, then it copies
the old sound for the teleporter(#26) and saves it to the file
"teleport.old" and installs the new sound "teleport.new" in its place.
To uninstall, type "uninstal" and it will put things back where they were,
including reinstalling the original.deh file. Hit <ret> once after dmaud
does its thing to make the batch file continue.
The uninstal.bat file puts the old sound file back, deletes the teleport.old
file, and installs the file original.deh(a copy of the original .deh settings)
This Dehacked patch is an attempt to make the game tough enough to be
interesting, yet playable and surviveable(every level playtested and passed
-though some JUST BARELY - by me to ensure proper play-balance.) in an attempt
to make the game regain most of its original enjoyability.
There are NO killer weapons or monsters as I made this to be a patch that is
playable with ANY .wad as well as the original.
Passing all levels on UV with this patch is quite a challenge, and I
personally won't go back to playing any .wad without this modification.
*As this patch is intended, the two changes to the doom.exe file listed

This patch is intended to be compatable with deathmatch play.
*note - if you want to run deathmatch with only this modification for the
teleporters(which I *HIGHLY* recommend), run the telefix.bat file
-the uninstall file runs the same for either modification-
Teleportation sound has been killed. Period. Monsters, exploding corpses,
telefrags, players, et. al. don't make a sound going through it.
Teleportation is also completely invisible and nearly instantaneous.
(this is great for creating invisible, unnoticeable teleports in
stairways and such to simulate levels)
*THIS IS HOW DEATHMATCH SHOULD BE - NO IDEA WHEN THEY ARE COMING FOR YOU!*
Player: no changes Ammo:Higher carrying capacity, though not overkill
Weapons: More ammo, but speed and power are different and more challenging.
All monsters move faster and have H.P. to compensated for their new damage,
speed, and what their REAL strengths should be.
(ie: the Spiderdeamon will KICK a Cyberdeamon's butt now, as it should be)
I have also modified my game to make all monsters infight and IDKFA not
to give keys, though this reqires manually editing your doom.exe file as
follows, which is the way I intend this patch to be used.
