Wonky and dated, but quite charming in its offbeat use of ACS features. Worth a look.

A combination of terrible maps and nonsense design sends this hub straight to the recycle bin.

I don't know how I missed this one before. The mapping could use more polish, but the author's puzzles and traps are clever and engaging. There are also some epic large areas, I particularly liked the big multi-floor labyrinth in the fire level. On the downside, some areas look kind of noobish, there are a few death without warning traps, and it follows the same fire-ice-steel pattern as half the Hexen map sets out there. Still worth a look.

Enjoying this game. I love hexen hubs ever since I figured out how they work. (happened this year) Best part in this game is exploring areas and finding all the switches.

The cool visuals of map 02 are probably the selling point of this mapset. The gameplay is pretty good too, though boring at times. The music on map02 is a horrible cacophony though.

Today the level feels pretty tacky, with tons of ZDoom effects thrown in willy-nilly. However the gameplay holds up even today, although the Arch-Vile at the end is pointless. Worth checking out for early ZDoom history.

Regular maps.  Some of them are not interesting at all

With a great music track, excellent visuals and varied gameplay, Helpyourselfish is a must to check out. You might get a bit lost once or twice (hint: look for newly opened paths) but the overall progression is clear and the map flow is great. None of the fights feel unfair, on HMP the action feels rather tense at times but there's just enough health around to keep you going. My only gripe are the places where you can fall into lava and die without possibility of escape.

I had a dream once, true story, where I was playing DOOM and everything was kinda familiar but kinda not. Such is dream logic. Keys were the wrong colour, layouts were reversed or had new sections. And yet it still looked precisely like DOOM, the one I've come to know and love.   This is a set of maps that does the same thing; even some questionable choices like the damaging start sector of E1M5 add to the 'dream logic'; everything's familiar and yet, it's somehow wrong.   Definitely worth a curious look even if all you're going to do is get drunk and/or stoned and give it a shot to freak yourself out or something.
