About This File

This is an awesome "1-level-hub" which is tough, beautiful, and complete. The architecture is nice, the enemies are numerous, and it'll give you a good challenge, especially on the top skill level.

Excellent map. The difficulty balance is good, the encounters are interesting, the architecture & texturing are well-done, and the puzzles aren't too cryptic (they actually could've been harder). I see people in the reviews complaining about difficulty finding switches, but I found the puzzles way easier than the original IWAD. My only complaints are its length (could be longer) and the linearity (could be... less so). But overall it's a great way to spend 30 minutes of Hexen.

dylux: Great WAD. Nice everything. Was too short though.

Cool little level, only gripe is that it's kind of short. Wish there were more.

Decent enough level, didn't even find the last part of the queitus, but I didn't really need it for the last fight anyway. It was a bit anticlimatic. Other fights earlier in the map were more challenging. 3/5 Kristus

I was really enjoying this until I reached the part where u have to fine 3 switches. Found two and when I couldn't find the third, I just shut the damn thing off. I HATE SWITCH HUNTS!!!!!!!! 4/5 for looks, creativity(The author knows his beans). Its gets 2/5 until I find that blasted switch!

nice map, but i had the same problem as the other reviewer: i couldnt find the last of the 3 switches. i had to use a noclip cheat in order to get into the room blocked by the wooden bars. other than that it was a well done map with a good balance between items and enemies.

Not bad, not quite as "tough and beautiful" as the author might think, but it's pretty solid. ******SWITCH SPOILER:****** To open the bars with the reavers behind them, face away from the bars and look on the right pillar in the room where the Bishops were.

Quick bit of fun, but kind of easy for the most part. 3/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
