One of the best megawads (among the large waste of crap) for the game. That makes it sound better than it actually is tho, because the stuff to compare with is sparse. Gameplay is rather cramped and akward at times, but the design touch greatness in some of the maps which make up for alot. These authors formed a solid team, and the final product will probably always stand as one of the finest in a rather quality deprived scene. 4/5 stars. -Johnsen

For any fault this wad has, there's something to make up for it. It contains some of my favorite maps of all-time, and also some frustrating maps. I'd say it hasn't aged as well as HR as the gameplay gets repetitive without ever being that challenging. I don't really mind the filler levels, but Map27 is just downright tedious. tl;dr version: Redundant gameplay, good architecture. 4/5 -Snakes

Very good up until map 11 or so, but after that, especially towards the end, it goes downhill, some of the later maps are horrible. OK I realize it was fantastic back then, but still overrated. Parts of it are just downright frustrating. However, for the first third of the maps alone, it gets a 4/5 from me.

This isn't perhaps the very best MW, but it has a unique place in my heart. High and consistent quality throughout makes it a definite must, whether you're an old school doomer or a zdoom freak.Great maps: 03(must play), 28,31&24(if you are a gothic-quake freak like me you'll love these 3), 21, 02, 11, 06, 08&14(two succesful attempts at realism in doom!). Maps 20,32,25,26 sucked, obvious filler maps included due to time constraint, and 27 just was boring, the others were good. 5/5. -TeH NeXuS.

Brilliant fucking stuff. Much better than Alien Vendetta because it's got more consistantly good levels.

This is THE BEST megawad ever created, in my opinion. Better than Memento Mori's, Hell Revealed, Alien Vendetta etc. They just don't make great classic WADs like this anymore, pity. For 1997, this one was just unbelievable. Even today, Requiem looks amazing. Almost perfect in every way - level design, mapset, textures, atmosphere, music, difficulty etc. -, so don't miss it! A must play for everyone, whether you like DooM or not! 5*/5

A classic megawad with some very memorable levels that offer plenty of innovation. Regrettably, the quality is not consistent throughout the wad. There are some rather questionable level design flaws. What really pissed me off was MAP17. Some of the areas that are required to beat the level, can only be accessed by finding some random walls which turn out to be a door, as if it were a secret. I wish to feed that level designer to my Caco flock.

This was the first megawad I've ever played (or ever seen?). When I'm in the mood (you know, when you suddenly remember some parts of maps and you HAVE to play them again!) I still replay it. I don't think it needs more explanation :)

I like so much cowards vomiting their sh***t without any signature... Requiem is legendary, sometimes a little bit too much tough, but with a great design and a good gameplay. And I agree 100% with Woolie Wool!!! -Jive

Excellent MegaWAD! But someone should make a dehacked patch for this to display levels name on automap when played in Vanilla Doom. Anyway this is the best classic mapset, I give 5*

One of the five all-time greats alongside the Memento Mori's, Alien Vendetta, and Hell Revealed, though this might be the weakest of the five. This is mostly because the levels are *very* uneven in style, quality, difficulty and size. But it still contains some of Doom's best ever levels from the likes of Iiika Keränen and Adelusion. Definitely worth your time. --5/5

Some gapfiller maps are short and easy (e.g. maps 20, 25, 26). "Hatred" (map 23) is probably the hardest of them - which isn't a surprise since it's from Plutonia expert Casali, after that it gets easier again. Keep in mind that this is from 1997, and lots of the featured architecture is remarkable for that time, especially the contributions by Keränen. If you can accept some weaker maps, you'll have a great 10-15 hours of entertainment. 5/5 - NightFright

After playing through numerous megawads developed throughout the history of Doom, Requiem came out on top without contest. Not even the Memento Mori's and Alien Vendetta could hold a candle to this one. Seriously, folks: anyone who hasn't already played Requiem has no more excuses! Play this megawad and see Doom wad creation at its absolute perfection! With Regards: -Eisenfaust86

This is one of the best megawads ever assembled on this planet! I have to agree with the third review about some of the maps being "uneven". There were a few maps that were too hard for me. Aside from that, I'm willing to give this a 5/5 since the music was cool.

I have not played a better megawad in 10 years, I tell you. I wonder if anything can beat it. You have projects like Knee Deep In ZDoom with lots of scripting, effects and other ZDoom stuff, and you see, it's nothing compared to Requiem which is pure Doom. - Zajoman

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
