Game : DOOM I
Title : Village of the Damned
Filename : Village.wad
Author : William Benfold

Misc. Author Info : I put this level together to take my mind off my
GCSEs, and now that they are over, I am beginning
to wonder why I bothered. I have the answer though:
I ENJOYED CREATING IT :)
I don't really mind what people think of it,
if you like it, please Email me to tell me so. If
you have any constructive criticism, I suppose that
wouldn't go amiss :)
Description : <--- I hate this trying to fill this line, but many
people like a bit of story, so I better think
of one >:-<
Okay, hows this:
It has been noted that some areas of America are more
prone to UFO sightings/crashes than anywhere else in
the world. However, it is not usual for there to be
a confirmed sighting every day in a small village with
a population of only a hundred or so.
Couple this with the fact that contact with the town
has been lost since the local authorities announced
that they had captured a handful of extra-terrestrials.
It is not known exactly what has happened, the most
likely explanations are that either the population of
the village has been infected with a fatal disease and
are all dead, or that they are under alien control.
It has been theorised that in the case of alien control,
there must be some form of central command post, which
must be infiltrated, investigated, and destroyed as
quickly as possible.
Due to the nature of this infiltration operation, you
will enter the village alone, and with minimal weaponry.
You are, however, authorised to use lethal force against
any beings of unknown origin, or anyone who attempts to
compromise your mission.

You may distribute it as described below in the legal bit,
but you are encouraged to thank me if you like it.
If you do not like it, there is no obligation to

which encourages them to create more wads.
I have made other wads, but they may or may not have been put on
this site, depending on whether or not I, and the cdrom.com
people think they are any good. Even if I do release them,
I will probably have to change some of the names, which have
already been used by other authors ;-(
WARNING: THERE MAY BE WADs AVAILABLE WITH THESE NAMES.
THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE MINE.
ocatagons.wad - my first ever WAD, very small, pointless, too hard,
it was full of bugs until I recently fixed them,
cross.wad - my second WAD, still not too good, but better than no. 1
temple.wad - much better than previous two WADS, but ridiculously
difficult to find the secret exit.
hives.wad - AVAILABLE NOW - Try it for yourself.
secret.wad - took me only four hours, a bit cheesy, but no bugs or
Alternatively, I may do another three and make a full episode, which
is what I originally intended to do. I am not sure if people prefer
to play nine single levels, or a whole episode.
