Even the basic barrel replacements from 1994 got the transparency bit right, come on Bob Marley! It’s 23 years later, but you should be ashamed. If you ever see this, fix your mod and upload the fix or forever wear the burden of your shame!

In this early gameplay mod, barrels are replaced by crudely drawn MSPaint cows. These new sprites are cumbersome and eat up huge chunks of the screen as they clip into the floor with a large white background. The opening scene of "Barrels o' Fun" looks like this:

In smaller numbers, they are still impractical. The sprites are much larger than the barrel hitbox, so it can be tough to tell if you are aiming at what makes them go boom. The explosion animation isn't satisfying and doesn't fit with the stock barrel-explosion sound at all.

it's not even funny at all, there's no alpha on the image so expect to see big white squares everywhere.

Awful. The cows are poorly draw in MS Paint, with splotches of red pixels to represent blood. They are surrounded by a big square purple box (perhaps it was supposed to be transparent). It's extraordinarily poor by any standard, especially given the claimed eight-month build time.

      Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

      Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

      It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

      What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

      thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.
