About This File

This level has a theme: it's the room you start in and the surrounding nukage area. Your way through this level leads you all around that area giving some nice views of the start room before you finish the level on the very same spot you started on.

Life becomes increasingly hard as you proceed but this level is never unfair. Gameplay is tuned for single player but multi is possible, too (and tested, as always), with players starting in different areas of the map.

Deathmatch is restricted to one part of the map.

Of course, like all ZAP-maps this level is top quality in terms of design and gameplay.

Tight challenge and great balance between ammo and enemies. Short, detailed, and a lot of fun. Slot 28.

Gives you just the smallest amount of ammo you could use. Being intelligent and not a kid-rushing speeder will get you a victory :) 5/5

Talented author Badorek serves up a beautiful, perfectly balanced map, which contains plenty of traps and secrets, and a very intelligent progression. Be sure to use techniques such as provoking infighting, and taking advantage of terrain wisely, to conserve ammo. I love the general feel of this map, reminiscent of Doom 2 map 11, and Badorek's own MM2 map 21, "Sanctuary". One of the best maps I've played for some time. --5/5

A very nice and solid wad, and a well-earned four stars. Get it, you won't regret it. (Sorry.)

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
