About This File

You thought carnage.wad was hard, well this new one makes it look easy. Not only is it much harder, but it is HUGE. It is nine levels covering the entire Dome of D'Sparil episode. You will be able to finish the level without having to find any secrets, although some areas will seem like they are. To kill all the enemies (especially the Chaos Serpents), you will have to find all, if not most, of the secrets.

Much more worthy than its prequel, and even if I was unable to use the .hhe file with it, I found the gameplay to be quite challenging, with tigh ammo, weapon and item placement and big monster spawns you have to come later with better stuff if you want to finish with 100% kills, this if you start with elvenwand and 50 charges. There's room for improvement, but this is 5/5 material nonetheless. ~Naan

I really like this a lot. It could use a bit of polishing architecturally (mainly alignment), but few maps from 1997 couldn't. The gameplay is quite tough on hard and after the first few maps, the levels are very extensive. Aside from the first few maps, my average time per map was a solid 25 minutes, not counting multiple tries at various fights. My only criticism is that the author forgot to put in weapons on E3M8; therefore, it's pistol start incompatible! But still a 5.

No, there are weapons on that map. Each one of those seven columns in the middle opens up, and inside you'll find the weapons and some ammo, and a few backpacks in one of them.

Not my thing at all. It attempts to be epic just because it has high vaulted ceilings with hugh pillars in even huger rooms, but that means nothing to me. The gameplay of every map is exactly the same, and it's all based around running and gunning, like Doom 2, only even worse. None of the imported textures have ever looked good in Heretic either.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.
