About This File

1 level WAD.

I use a P120 machine, so I imagine some areas may run slowly on a underpowered machine.

A day to die, MAP05. Rated 3.9. A large single level in doom style play. Well done design in modern office building foyer style, with large spaces. Many traps, with waves of monsters, plays better after you know where. Saved game about 75 times. Ammo is barely adequate, not enough shotgun shells. Progressive play, not much backtracking, unless you count running away to safe ground after every button you press. Tedious Cyberdemon battle, must save game after every shot that hits. No secrets.

Great Level. Nonlinear and very fun explorative gameplay. The Architecture is simple and clean. Great fun. -Captain Napalm

As with MK's other levels, this one is large in proportion.[everythi ng is big].This one however, only took 25 min. to playthrough.4*

This is dated November 1997. It's great fun. The design resembles a giant LEGO techbase, or one of the matte paintings from the original Star Trek (it's very clean and futuristic in a 1950s way). It's possible to finish in less than three minutes if you flick an early high-level switch from ground level; but that just adds to the charm. The difficulty is mellow by modern standards, but what's wrong with that? It's good fun to sprint through it, too.

I know by now, that Michael has a preference for open, wide, giant buildings. This one is similar to "A big job" in its appearance, but I found it quite boring. You're running around in an area, kill some monsters and press a switch which opens a new large area... quite repetitive. And it's very low on details, so you can't even enjoy the area visually. 1.5/5 -Milian

gigantic map, opened, simple lines but very stylish. I like it. Be sure to check ABIGJOB.ZIP in the same theme - PerOxyd

A true 5-star map. Perhaps the best I've ever played. It caters for multiple play styles, like running through everything, which is the mark of a great map. Well done! 5/5

This one's spacious and neat, as Michael's maps tend to be, with enemies deployed or waiting all around in key locations. In a way it's not large, in the sense that there are not so many areas, but the combination of interconnectivity, scale and reuse of areas makes it feel quite so. It's good for exploratory play but gets even more fun with swifter games after you replay it because of the enemy/item balance and placement. A fun demo's included, too. [4/5] ~Chain Mail (11/2007)

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.

Conceptually not bad, it's a pretty imposing tower with some decent lighting, but no ammo at all despite having the guns and a VERY obscure way to rise up the floor in the lava pit? That's a big downer. But overall, it's ok.

Well, the map is pretty basic. The map is quite challenging, with there being 0 ammo pickups (excluding the backpack) outside of the starting room. There are also nazis for some reason. I will give it 2 stars only because this really wasn't meant to be played to be enjoyed, but rather just a example of how to build a map in DEU.
