About This File

FORGET THE DESCRIPTION ALREADY!!! This is DOOM!! You kill things 'cause you want to.....'cause you have to! (Check out KILLME 1-3 text files if you really want a story line!) If you really want the story, e-mail me and I might send you the long version.

once you play through one map, you pretty much have seen the rest. loads of zombies and imps in hallways, all monsters are not flagged deaf so they will wander. there's also tons of barrels in just about every level. that being said though, the gameplay is surprisingly good, you get to slaughter hordes of weak monsters most of the time and it's fun. the only bad thing about this is that there's no real theme, and there are very few differences between the maps. it's monotonous, but it is fun.

Almost strictly single-themed mapset based on tech bases with small corridors, lots of traps, and non-lineair gameplay. Yes, look-and-feel is monotonous. But ambiance is very nostalgic, and after the first few maps it gets better and better to the point of very good, and often even excellent. Playing it @ UV still gives a lot of fun in 2015 (f.e. E3M9 with limited ammo), so author gets a well-earned 4*. BTW @ invisible 0-vomit / 1-awful voters: have the guts for posting why, it's not fair to the author.

This is like one gargantuan monotone level. Design is OK, so is play... but there is virtually no variation from map to map, or even episode to episode. Everything just looks and feels the same in all 27 maps. Hard to feel excited.

Pretty good. Exploding barrels get you once, but you remember those spots. A bit confusing in areas, but not get you lost difficult. Tough in spots for sure. Overall, FUN! Not legendary, but better than a 4.

I vote 5 stars to make it going upper than 3. The gameplay is NOT super fool, but the users thinking that all they have to do is to be unfriendly with the authors. I'm playing it, and there are lots of fun !!! - Jive

It's a very impressive megawad with a nice themed ancient Egypt atmosphere, with very nice choosing of textures to contribute to that theme, very nice architecture and impressive (and very risky) twist on the story going from ancient Egypt to alien spaceships, without using hi-pitched colors like in Ancient Aliens. Also, very tough megawad, if you're masochist enough, you can play it with Complex Doom and add LCA for more doses of pain.

It's okay. Quite easy due to the abundance of artifacts, mana, & health. The level design is fine, nothing special. The only truly bad part was the unmarked puzzle bookcases, forcing you to wallhump the entire library as a last resort. Otherwise it's pretty simple stuff, running around finding keys and smashing monsters. The texturing and lighting aren't fantastic but aren't noticeably bad either. The only glaring issue is that many windows just show a wall textured with the sky texture rather than an area with a sky ceiling. Yet there are perfectly normal outdoor areas. Perhaps the author only figured it out skies halfway through development? Anyways, this is worth your time if you want an hour or two of simple Hexen fun.

It's a nice wad overall, nice map design, textures and monster placement, enjoyed playing on D-Touch (GZDoom1.8) with Dude4th weapon mod.  My only complain would be the secrets, they have very few to no clues about their position.  There was a problem on E3M5 on the secrets around the squared starting room with stairs, the wall closes and let me stuck inside, had to use idclip to get out from those secret rooms.

I recently played through this continuously twice on UV. Overall I feel this is an expertly crafted WAD from start to finish. Beautiful scenery, great soundtrack, and intense gameplay. Maybe a little too intense sometimes, and with that it's probably not a WAD I'll recommend to newbies. If less experienced players absolutely have to try it, I suggest playing on the lower difficulty modes as the included readme suggests. Describing the later maps of this WAD as "brutal" on UV is an understatement to say the least.
