About This File

This one turned out different than I intended. The scenery is better than the fights. I tried to compensate, but I think some areas are too big for my style, and I can't fill in the gaps between fights. Some spots have very high monster counts. I just wanted to do something different from what my other WADS look like. Please send me comments, good or bad.

A nice little romp. The beginning is nicely hectic, but the metal castle has some annoying traps. Still worth a play, even for its age.

Overall simple, rectangular layout. Texture use is spare but consistent. Decoration is, except for the brown piles, almost absent. So ambiance is nothing special. @ UV monster placement is a bit uninspired, and gameplay is not even a bit challenging. Small 3/5, you might give it a try if you have 10 minutes spare.

Very good. Nice gameplay, challenging, and nice architecture.

It's somewhat overrated. You fight imps and hell knights at long range and there's a hall full of mancs which takes ages if you play it safe.

Bitch of a level. It's a cool looking castle that's actually a fairly wide open series of battles. Plus, the designer blocks your escape routes or turns your cover into the next monster's hiding place. Wicked fun.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.
