About This File

Small and tight. Use your fists to be sure you have enough ammo in the end. Many of my influences comes from Malcolm Sailor's Chord-series...

1998 must've been a slow year for the community if this was included in the old "Top 100 WADs" list. It's an alright gimmick teleporter map with a tricky Tyson opener. Each room gives you essential pickups while teleporting more monsters into the hub. There is an optimal route for beating the level, which does lead to trial and error quicksaving unfortunately. I feel like this would've fit as a MAP31 in an old MegaWAD with some super-convoluted timed secret exit to MAP32.

While admittedly short, the environment is very well detailed(this was 1994, remember) and the gameplay is claustrophobic while still being fun, something that's difficult to do. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I'll round up to 4 instead. - Obsidian

Ultra-short sort-of concept wad. Gameplay consists of fighting some monsters in one very small center area with 4 narrow rooms reachable via teleports, and is totally uninteresting. All-over I cannot take this seriously as a map, so 1* for the effort.

Great map. The map is physically small, but does a great job of making itself feel longer than it really is while keeping gameplay challenging and fun. The map may not take long to complete, but it plays well while it lasts. UV skill is difficult but not excessive, and fans of the berserk pack should like this one. 4/5 -Reckoner

Intense and unforgettable. But way too short. 4/5.

This barely constitutes a level. It feels more like an experiment.

This wad is pretty well thought out, but it could have been a little longer. 4/5 - josh

Well, it's decent while it lasts; but it's like the first fifth of a much larger level. And you get too much plasma ammunition for it to be the kind of white-knuckle challenge the author intended (and the start is aggravating).

Good concept and fun, but it's just too short.

Badass level with intense gameplay. 30 something monsters that feel like your fighting against 200 monsters.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
