About This File

My best work ever, I'd have to say. I spent a good amount of time on lighting(or at least a lot of thought heh), architecture(something Dismemberment wasn't too strong in)and *gasp* texture alignment. The wad is also in two maps becuase WadEd decided that I shouldn't be able add the final area, so it's in a second map. It works out though, because the final area was going to be sealed off from the rest of the map anyway.

Map01 is a solid, fun level set in an icy castle/dungeon. The design is simple and there's a fair amount of action, although it feels like a set of rooms one after the other, rather than a fluid whole. Minus a star for having slippery ice; a platform game cliche from the 1980s. There's one puzzle that's fiddly, and the cyberdemon pathway/maze is clever but very frustrating. Map02 is horrible - a small spider mastermind arena on slippery ice.

This one is much better than Artica 4, and more interesting. Cyb really did a good job on this one. 4.5/5. --Woolie

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.
