About This File

It has been 3 years since the destruction of the huge demon that masterminded the invasion of Earth. Your journey back home was almost as difficult and bloodthirsty as your journey into hell, but you made it. You had expected to be made a hero; after all, you had saved Earth and all it's worlds from a fate worse than death. But it was not to be that way.

Upon your return, you discovered that things had begun to change. The UAC, deprived of some of it's key personnel, had become more secretive and shadowy. You could swear that the Mars station's light levels were lower than you remember them. . . Instead of briefings by the top brass, troops were given datapads for their missions. Sometimes people would go missing. . . Some of the other marines decided that they would leave. Their ship blew up shortly after departure.

Recently, things have gotten worse. All remaining marines have been confined to quarters for weeks, and contact with Earth has been cut off for months. Some of your closest friends have started to disappear Perhaps hell won the fight after all. . .

Then, one night, it is your turn. Your dreams suddenly turn to nightmares, a Spider Mastermind strafing your body, it's manic laughter the only thing you can hear ... As the last bullet pierces your skin, your eyes blink open. Something is wrong. . . it seems even colder and darker than it did before. . . Suddenly, everything goes black. Fearing the worst, you reach under your bed for the pistol you always keep there. Your chaingun and shotgun are in the other room, but it is too late and too far.

Your sight begins to return to you. But where are you? You are in a tiny brick room, a silver door the only way out. Tightening your grip on the pistol, you open it and step through and prepare to discover the purpose of this ... this Nameless Project.

Excellent, simply excellent. Hard to believe this thing is over a decade old. Top notch design, flow and balance, 5/5.

Another reminder to me wrt why I still love this game after all these years. Classical Doom never fails to engage.

Literally bad. Probably it's something wrong with me rather than wad, but I can't help it. Even the sequel to this wad look far more apparent than this ugliness.

I like it. Looks good, the levels are nicely
detailed and kick copious amounts of arse. I'd
recommend that any serious Doomer download this
without hesitation.

The battles had just the right amount of intensity; challenging without being cheap or unfair. A very fun Megawad! 5/5

Good textures, well balanced thing placement, haunting, sometimes funny music (esp. MAP02 mission impossible :D) and enjoyable levels (eg MAP09 made me forget I was actually playing DOOM 2 till I saw those Arachnotrons!) Pretty damn good. Better than Quake! But here's what wasn't so good: the missions were too linear! 4/5 -- Ebon.

Nostalgia. I remember having played this mapset around 1998, considering it as tough. 16 years later UV is a piece-of-cake... but still has it's fine moments. Map layout, decoration and ambiance are well done according to 1998 standards, so 4/5, and worth a play. But despite the 5* ratings above, don't expect something legendary. For that, try f.e. TNT: Eternal DooM 3.

Very nice level set, that look nice and play well. Only slight grumble is the level's don't seem to get any more difficult as you go along, if anything the last few levels are a bit short and easy. Still 5/5

This whole project may be well over 10 years old, but it holds up well - very well - even today. One of the can't miss old Doom games - it is really as legendary as Memento Mori or Requiem.

I don't see why people like this so much. There are cool ideas here and there but generally you get crappy 1994esque monotextured mazes and a lack of concept to make the maps interesting or unique. It's at its best when it's pretending to be quake(insert joke about quake being crappy monotextured mazes here)

Excellent - both as a Doom mapset and as an attempt to capture the atmosphere of the original Quake. Dark, creepy, challenging - worthy of the attention of every veteran Doomer out there :)

Nice level set. They follow an exact texture theme. There's even a backstory. The boss usage is also quite efficient. You'll like playing this. Note that this is in no way a megawad, just a 11-level set. It gets a 4/5. IC

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.
