Mod to enhance atmosphere and scariness?

Is there a polished mod (graphics and gameplay) to enhance the atmosphere and scariness of Doom 3?

It would be great - for example - if there would be a gameplay mod with countless parameters to alter the behavior of the monsters etc.

Whoa, random encounters? That's what every shooter needs!

Other than what's been said, I've seen some mods that add new behaviors. Nothing too exciting; just Imps being able to throw barrels and Knights of Hell tossing other monsters at you.
