RestlessRodent Posted January 4, 2012 I recently just finished my slow (25:06) TAS of Episode 1. Note that this is my first playthrough through the episode and is NOT optimized. Since this is TAS, I can cheat and I did, and you'll see the cheats I used. Re-Records: 4 Port: modified prboom-plus http://sites.google.com/site/kaptinkurk/gd1e2506.zip Enjoy Watching!gd1e2506.zip 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted January 4, 2012 I can't see any point in releasing a bad, ugly, slow TAS movie. Non-TAS Max record for E1M1 is 0:29, for instance. 0 Share this post Link to post
Rizera Posted January 4, 2012 GhostlyDeath said:Re-Records: 4 With that low re-records count, don't you think it would be greater just to study the levels more and actually do a non-TAS Max movie? That would be something cool to do. Me, just as Grazza, don't see a real point in doing a TAS movie like this. 0 Share this post Link to post
RestlessRodent Posted January 4, 2012 This is my first TAS, so there's lots of room for improvement. 0 Share this post Link to post
cannonball Posted January 4, 2012 In the end this TAS movie needs a bit of work but that will come in time as it's your first try at this. Though I would openly encourage you to do a non-TAS demo of episode 1 as the fastest single player effort is 29:02 and that can be improved a lot :) 0 Share this post Link to post

The idea of a TAS demo is to keep working on it until there's virtually no room for improvement. Now excuse me, it's time for me to plonk around on the piano for a bit and call it "my first symphony." 0 Share this post Link to post

TimeOfDeath Posted January 4, 2012 Aw come on guys, I thought all demos were welcome in the demos forum? :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Akse Posted January 4, 2012 TimeOfDeath said:Aw come on guys, I thought all demos were welcome in the demos forum? :) Well yeah, but if it TAS it should be entertaining. 0 Share this post Link to post
Rizera Posted January 6, 2012 Of course all demos are welcome!! Main point in my opinion is that he has used only 4 re-records in a 25 minutes demo. That's almost like a real time play. So a question comes to my mind: why not just get more re-records for a better time, or abandon TAS for once? That's just my way of thinking. 0 Share this post Link to post
