Melon Posted January 15, 2012 http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-01-15-retrospective-doom I thought this was a pretty interesting read, the writer talks about his experiences as he played it back when he was 13 and the technical marvel it was at the time. 0 Share this post Link to post
purist Posted January 15, 2012 There's nothing in the article I didn't already know, but it's well enough written and is always nice to know Doom is still being written about. It was good that Doomworld was linked to as well. 0 Share this post Link to post
Brewtal_Legend Posted January 17, 2012 That was a pretty fun read. Even the comments. :p I particularly liked this link: http://h9.abload.de/img/thumbs_hornoxe_com_picnamg.jpg 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted January 17, 2012 It'd be great if vidyagamez journalists would learn to do what actual journalists are supposed to do -- fact check.Carmack deliberately programmed the game so that replacing sound and graphics would be both simple and reversible. He also made the code for the game's level editor available to the public. The level editor is the only Doom utility whose source was never available to the public. 0 Share this post Link to post
