Foodles Posted April 13, 2012 Some textures are obvious what they're made from e.g. STONE1 is made from stone and ashwall is rock. For other textures like the GRAY series and BROWN and STARG, these are harder to place - BROWN96 for example, I would say wood but I don't think that's right, I'm trying to imagine what it would feel like if I were to run my hands over it. Now I'm no architect or builder so I don't have much experience in this field, so perhaps you can fill me in? This applies to some of the floors as well e.g. FLOOR5_2 and flat19 0 Share this post Link to post
esselfortium Posted April 13, 2012 The best I've been able to figure out is that GRAY* is probably flat, evenly scratched concrete, and all of the BROWN* textures are darker, dirtier concrete with more depth. STAR* might be some sort of steel, like SHAWN*, or maybe plastic. 0 Share this post Link to post
The_MártonJános Posted April 13, 2012 What are the textures made from? Pixels of course (Sarcasm off). Answering your question, I think STAR* are semi-hollow metallic wall shrouder things, and FLAT19 is a kind of carpet. Also, I suppose FLOOR4_6, FLOOR4_8, FLOOR5_1, FLOOR5_2, FLOOR5_3, FLAT5 and FLAT8 are all made of some kind of lynoleum or plastic floor covering. Other flats, such as - FLAT14 and FLOOR1_1 - FLOOR1_6 and partially FLOOR1_7 - CEIL4_2 and CEIL4_3 - FLAT5_5 - CEIL5_1 and partially TLITE6_1 and TLITE6_5 - FLAT18 and partially FLAT17 - CEIL4_1 - FLAT9, FLAT19 and partially FLAT2 - FLAT1 - FLAT5_3, COMP01, MFLR8_2 and MFLR8_4 in a kind of perception are sorta "carpet" flats or how shall I put it. However, I still don't have a clue what FLAT5_2 and BROWN96 are supposed to be. 0 Share this post Link to post

Dragonsbrethren Posted April 14, 2012 The CEMENT in E3M3 doesn't seem so out of place when you realize the Spiderdemon's center seems to be made of the same stuff. 0 Share this post Link to post
