What are the DOEDAY, DONDAY, DOSDAY, and DOWDAY lumps for?

I was editing Death Tormention II [pe4_dt2] and saw that it had the fallowing lumps:

DONDAY:


DOSDAY:


DOWDAY:


I just wondered what these lumps were for, I've never seen any of the four images while playing the game.

They appear to be four pieces of a wrap-around sky texture. The N/S/E/W letters give it away, and also, you can match up the edges in a circular pattern.

What the hell? I've never saw that sky, I always just saw the orange sunset one. Damn pcorf's ZDoomism bad habits.

I can easily see the edges on the sky parts between each texture when put together, it kind of spoils it.

SLADE's texture editor can export textures to a single-image lump. Then you can export that lump to a file.

I probably should add a one-step export to file as well.

This sky was used in The Brotherhood of Ruin, a brilliant aztec\mayan themed episode that everyone should play.
